I discovered Li-Fraumeni syndrome one week before quadrant surgery for breast cancer. I found out about the cancer in April 2023, underwent chemotherapy, and reduced it to the point where only the quadrant would be removed. However, after genetic testing, everything changed.
Today, I’m undergoing immunotherapy, and I believe it will continue until October. I have already had both breasts removed, with the second one removed a month ago, and I am currently using an expander.
I’m waiting to see how things will be from now on. I’ve learned that nothing is entirely in our hands, and if you’ve just discovered it, have patience because you’re not condemned to anything. Just because you have the syndrome doesn’t mean you’ll always have cancer! Take care of yourself, eat well, exercise, and don’t lose faith.
